Should there be a PCC?

This is a question that lots of people feel very strongly about. I personally wouldn't have picked a system that puts so much power in the hands of one person.
The level of accountability the new Police and Crime Commissioner role gives is a good thing, but this role in the hands of a political extremest could be very dangerous.

The fact remains however that Devon and Cornwall is going to have a Police and Crime Commissioner, so the question that needs an answered is not "should we have a PCC?" but "who should the PCC be?"

If you want a hard working public servant, with liberal values, a fresh pair of eyes and who will listen to your views, then I hope your answer is clear.
