Family continued

Thank you to those of you who have given me positive feedback about putting personal information on my blog. I want to be as open with everyone as possible, so here is some more about by family background:

My grandfather (father's side), Jaroslav Sodek, was a Czech pilot who came to Britain and fought as a spitfire pilot in the Battle of Britain in 1940.He returned to Czechoslovakia after the war. When the Communists took over in 1948 he made his escape back to Britain with seven others in a "borrowed" Czech aircraft. They landed at RAF Manston and caused a bit of an international stir. He was part of the RAF until he retired.
